FYF Fest: One Day, One Artist
In the DJ and producer scene, you could call Jamie xx a game-changer. While given the tools to create massive and over-the-top productions for his tracks, the London producer (who is also one-third of The xx) instead decides to hone in on the subtle ticks and vibrations, sending listeners into a trance without even realizing it. It’s the lack of constant bells and whistles that allows his music to sink in and take control. This therapeutic effect is best represented by the video for his single “Sleep Sound” showcasing deaf dancers moving to the silence and negative space his music creates. Watch him continue to turn heads at his FYF set this Sunday.
