THIS DAY IN MUSIC

1991:

Photographer Michael Lavine took what would be the publicity shots for Nirvana’s Nevermind album at Jay Aaron Studios in Los Angeles. The idea for the front cover shot of the baby swimming was taken after Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl saw a TV documentary on water babies and was taken by Kirk Weddle. Several babies were used; five-month old Spencer Eldon’s photo came out best.

Arch Enemy “Khaos Legions” Update + Pre-Order

Arch Enemy is on the verge of releasing their 9th studio album Khaos Legions!

Drummer Daniel Erlandsson comments on the album:

We had a very inspiring and creative time writing this album. I think this is definitely evident when listening to the new songs. There’s tons of variation in the material, ranging all the way from very melodic to extremely heavy. As you can expect there’s no shortage of killer riffs and intricate guitar work; the Amott brothers [Michael and Chris] have come up with some very cool yet demanding ideas! This album has some of the fastest songs I’ve ever recorded, along with a bunch of heavy pounding mid-tempo songs. As always, it’s difficult to describe music in words, but rest assured — this album will be one heavy f!*ker!

Khaos Legions will be out on June 7 (May 30th in Europe) but is available for pre-order now with a handful of options.

The album’s track listing is below:

01. Khaos Overture (instrumental)
02. Yesterday Is Dead And Gone
03. Bloodstained Cross
04. Under Black Flags We March
05. No Gods, No Masters
06. City Of The Dead
07. Through The Eyes Of A Raven
08. Cruelty Without Beauty
09. We Are A Godless Entity (instrumental)

But that’s not all (it never is, is it?). There’s a deal in the works for us to get the album for as low as $7.99. The more streams the album receives, the lower the price goes. Each time you listen to an individual song, it counts as a stream. Pre-ordering the album also gets you the lowest price automatically. And! Basically, it’s a win, win and another possible win situation. Good tunes, lower prices and maybe even a guitar. Get to it!
