Way back in June, The Bouncing Souls embarked on this crazy endeavor to play all their records, front to back, in various cities across the globe. From Chicago to Boston, NYC to Philly, London to Vienna, and finally Denver to LA, the band performed four back-to-back shows in each city, covering each record in chronological order.
We had the chance to catch night 2 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Let’s just say the crowd went OFF for The Bouncing Souls and Hopeless Romantic. We definitely picked an awesome night to attend.
Who’s checking out the last couple of nights in LA this weekend? Is anyone hitting up all four nights?
Many bands have a few serious fans, but few bands have the army that The Bouncing Souls have amassed over the years. Check out a few of these tattoos and view the rest on The Bouncing Souls facebook. They’re on tour now so check them out this summer. I’m backing the all black solid one. Keeping it classic.
I hope that everyone knows what tomorrow is (besides my birthday). It’s Record Store Day! I’m pretty excited the two are falling on the same date this year. Anyway, I also hope that everyone knows exactly what Record Story Day is.
It’s pretty self explanatory. You go spend every last dime you have to support independent record stores and music. Not really, but that’s what always happens to music lovers. It’s really the celebration of music + artists + independent stores. These are stores who are self-owned and operated- no company or overhead dictating what goes on shelves and what gets sent back to the label. It’s less of a numbers game and more of an appreciation for music. You know, how it should be. There aren’t many still around, but thanks to this, its easy to find one.
To give you a heads up, The Bouncing Souls will release a very special, very limited 7” to celebrate RSD. Only 500 copies of this picture disc will be available nation-wide. It will feature “Gasoline,” “Airport Security,” “Badass” and “Never Say Die/When You’re Young.”
So- how are you going to celebrate?

The Bouncing Souls are going to have an Asbury Park, NJ screening for a special sneak preview of the new documentary. The film features a behind-the-scenes look at The Gold Tour with tons of never before seen footage. Keep in mind it will be a “rough cut” of the editing process- so you may get the chance to see footage that doesn’t make it to the final draft! This is a one time showing on Dec 29th at 3pm. Tickets are on pre-sale for $10.
If you can’t make the 29th, on Dec 27th there will also be a screening of the “Do You Remember? 15 Years of the Souls” documentary at 3pm. Tickets are also on pre-sale for $10. The band will there to have a Q and A after the showing.
Both event details and tickets can be found on The Showroom’s website. Not only can you check out both of the movies, but feel free to see the band perform later that night! The Souls will have their 4 last dates of the year at Stone Pony.

The Bouncing Souls have announced they will release a fourth and final 7” EP in celebration of their 20th anniversary. If you’ve been keeping up on the Soul’s, this is the last piece to the puzzle if you will. Putting all 4 albums together creates a larger Souls logo. They have been released every 3 months throughout the year and now you can complete your collection!
The record includes songs “Like the Sun,” “Big Eyes,” “When You’re Young / Never Say Die” and “Ghosts On The Boardwalk (acoustic)” and is available starting December 15th.
All 3 vinyls are still available with the most recent up for pre-sale. This will make a nice collectible for any Souls fan and for $5 a pop, you can’t beat it. They are also limited to under 2,800 pieces each.
