vansart:

Artist Nathaniel Russell gave us a couple ditties that have been on constant repeat for the month of August on his turn-table.  Take a peek at his Top 5 Albums/Songs list and add some or all these gems:
Little Wings “Last” - New one by my brother-in-arms, kyle field. He goes deep and stays there. Is that gross? sorry, but it’s true.
Sonny and the Sunsets “Antenna to the afterworld” - Jams and jams galore. I like it when they talk in the songs and tell you how they are feeling.
Bo Diddley “Is…” - (compilation tape from mississippi records, portland) One of those mississippi records tape compilations they sell at that store in portland. It really makes a good case for Mr. Diddley being the fully actualized being. So primitive and soulful it makes you wanna eat something alive.
Bob Marley “African Herbsman” - I love all the lee perry-produced marley stuff. This and the songs on those budget compilations you buy at truck stops. Bob marley: not just for college dorm rooms, also for normal life. Just keep it to the early jams and you’ll be fine.
JJ Cale “Naturally”- We just lost this one to the great back porch in the sky. None more laid back. This record also has a sweet painting of a raccoon on the cover.
