When the weather’s a little off and rainy, as it has been lately, I like to throw some good ol’ punk rock on the radio and circle pit around my living room. Jumping over coffee tables and couches makes for an added element of reckless danger. Luckily, Pennywise's new album All Or Nothing, due out 5/1, is now streaming right here thanks to Epitaph Records.

Bad Religion “Wrong Way Kids” Video

Influential punk rockers Bad Religion have released a moving video for the new single, “Wrong Way Kids” from the group’s critically heralded album, The Dissent of Man. The song is a tribute to the band and their fan’s shared histories as rebellious yet durable outsiders.

The footage begins in present day with lead singer Greg Graffin offering a knowing message of hope for Bad Religion’s many fans:

Even though they’re misfits, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

A subsequent shot reveals a defiantly unconventional Graffin on stage with the band back in 1984 counting down the song intro. Check out the nonstop montage of found footage showing the band’s remarkable rise from teen rebels to international punk luminaries:

Stream the New Social Distortion Album

We’ve been hopped up since the news of Social Distortion’s newest album Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes and now we can listen to the master in it’s entirety before the January 18th release. Rejoice!

But that’s not all (it never is, is it?). There’s a deal in the works for us to get the album for as low as $7.99. The more streams the album receives, the lower the price goes. Each time you listen to an individual song, it counts as a stream. Pre-ordering the album also gets you the lowest price automatically. And! When you share the stream on your Facebook or Twitter accounts, you are entered to win an autographed guitar.

Basically, it’s a win, win and another possible win situation. Good tunes, lower prices and maybe even a guitar. Get to it!

Bad Religion Writing New Album

This week marks the official announcement that Bad Religion is recording a new album.

So much is happening for the band on their 30th year anniversary. We’re talking full tours, a live album and now they are working on the next. Do these guys take a break!?

Epitaph Records founder, and Bad Religion member, Brett Gurewitz comments:

While we’re celebrating our 30th anniversary as a band this year it’s also a time when Greg and I have embarked on new creative pursuits which have informed our songwriting process. I’m a new parent again and Greg a new author having just completed his first book Anarchy Evolution. So the songs are a distillation of where we’ve been and who we are now…a natural evolution of creativity. Being a new parent has colored my whole world. As a result I’ve written songs that at least for me, are somewhat less angsty and more introspective and vulnerable. The experience has emboldened me to take some creative risks as a songwriter that I’ve not allowed myself to take before.

Greg also commented on working on the new album:

We wouldn’t embark on this new creative endeavor, Brett wouldn’t have embarked on parenthood, I wouldn’t have embarked on writing a book, if we hadn’t reached a place in our lives where we felt the confidence that we had something to offer and that’s what these songs represent. They represent a new found confidence that things are starting to make sense to us.

If you want the entire free live album, you can still get it for free by signing up for their mailing list…for free. Get it! Get it!!!

Social Distortion signs to Epitaph!

Big, massive news for the punk music industry: Social Distortion has been signed to Epitaph Records!

Mike Ness of Social D comments:

We feel that Epitaph has a natural understanding of Social Distortion; both the history of the band and the direction we want to go. Combine that with their successful track record and it felt like a good next step for us. We’ve always been open to new ideas and pushing the envelope, but we have also been very conscientious about the decisions we’ve made. We considered a lot of options, but in the end, Epitaph feels like the right home for us. We’re looking forward to taking this step forward, opening some new doors with this upcoming album and this next chapter of Social Distortion.

And if you didn’t know, Epitaph Records was founded and is still owned by Brett Gurewitz, an original member of Bad Religion. He seems very excited to be working with the band:

My relationship with Mike goes way back to the beginnings of our careers in the LA music scene. Through the years Social Distortion have been a matchless voice in American rock and roll and I couldn’t be more thrilled to play a part in the next chapter for this great band.
Personally, I can’t see Social D with a better label. Epitaph is a heavy player in the punk scene and now the band can be proud to say they’ll be labelmates with Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, Rancid, Every Time I Die and New Found Glory.

The band is planning their first release with Epitaph this fall and already have a summer tour dates:

July 27 - Poughkeepsie, NY - The Chance
July 28 - Hampton Beach, NH - Casino Ballroom
July 30 - Providence, RI - Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel
