Miette Hope: Winner of the First Vans Berklee Off The Wall Scholarship

We announced earlier last month that the first winner of the Vans Berklee Off The Wall Scholarship was awarded to Miette Hope-Goldman, a talented 17-year-old singer-songwriter from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

We’ve released an exclusive interview with Hope-Goldman in our Vans Women’s Fall 2014 Zine and to celebrate the release, she will be performing tonight at the Vans store in Chapel Hills Mall at 6pm.

House-Party-goers were especially stoked to see New York’s own Gorilla Biscuits take the stage last Thursday for their super-charged performance of hardcore punk hits. After a while, it was hard to tell who was in the band and who was in the audience once people started rushing to the stage. But we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Sporting some sweet neon Sk8-Hi’s, hardcore rock band Turnstile was ready to show Brooklyn what they’re made of. Lead vocalist Brendan Yates wasn’t afraid to get involved with the crowd surfers and moshers and set the tone for the rest of the performances that night. We wish we could catch air like they do on stage!
