OFF! are at it again with a west coast tour kicking off this Thursday. If you’re in need of some straight up punk rock, ditch the TV for a night and snatch up some tickets for a show or two.

Also, if you’re in the LA area, Friday’s show at the Henry Fonda is being recorded for Last Call With Carson Daly. Get on it.

Another fresh new music video to sink your teeth into: OFF! just released a little spitfire of a video for the song “Cracked”. I’m sure you’ve seen those guys and gals paid to hold signs on the street, telling us to buy sandwiches and cell phones and whatnot. Sometimes they’re dressed up as monkeys or Lady Liberty, as if embarrassing outfits really drive up business factors. Turns out the key to awesome sign spinning isn’t costumes, it’s a lil’ bit of OFF! on the cassette deck.

If you want to up your game on the sign spinning business, the band just released a smashing little record last month. You can pick it up now on iTunes, as well as on vinyl or CD.

"Can’t a guy be angry and just play fast and pissed off music?" Yes, Keith Morris, yes you can. While he may be best known for his years upon years tearing apart the punk scene in Black Flag and Circle Jerks, we took a trip up to Hollywood’s legendary Whisky A Go Go for the record release show from his current punk rock supergroup, OFF!. Needless to say, I don’t think The Whisky knew just what it was in for when Keith came and taped down a giant three-page set list to the stage.

"Uncle Keith" paused throughout the night for storytime with the audience, reliving tales of drinking in a parking lot up the street and setting dumpsters on fire. It was a punk rock history lesson with an insanely animated soundtrack to accompany it.

FIDLAR opened the sold-out show with an incredible set of their own. Just give some punk rock a kick of dancing, and this band is what you’ve got. They’ll be continuing along the California coast for more shows this week, and we send them off with high recommendations and a tip o’ the hat.

Is it May 8th yet? No? I’m just going to crawl back under the covers and you can wake me up next Tuesday with the gritty punk rock goodness that is OFF!. Their new, self-titled record hits stores on the 8th, pummeling through 16 songs in 16 minutes. Who needs all those three minute radio singles anyway? Nah, man. OFF! know how to get things done in a third of the time.
It wouldn’t be a proper album release without some shows to rage through all those brand new tracks. Some shows are almost sold out, so check out the dates above and get those tickets in advance!
