This week, we checked out Youth Lagoon at The Echo (Los Angeles). If you already daydream about jumping cargo trains to leave the small town life with the LP The Year of Hibernation (via Fat Possum) as your soundtrack, then you’ll find the live show all too familiar. Youth Lagoon’s  22-year-old mastermind Trevor Powers presents his album exactly as you’ll remember it on the record. With an addition of one touring guitarist, the show is intimate but pronounced, with so much reverb, we had a hard time keeping the empty beer cans from falling off the edge of the stage. This is the kind of show where you grab your  best friend by the shoulders to reminisce the days of yore and contemplate how the hell you got to where you are now.
