A limited edition, exclusive t-shirt has also been released in conjunction with the CD. All purchases also come with 2 free bonus tracks (one from each band). That’s 22 songs for $10. Solid.

Datarock Video Release- “California”

Datarock is incredible. Can we just put that out there first and foremost? Awesome.

Because this is simply a fact, you have to check out their new video for “California.” Yes, it’s a Datarock song about their love for California. I told you these guys were rad. The video features footage of their performance at Lollapalooza Chile in Santiago this past April.

If I had one of these track suits, I’d live in it. And of course, we’re always fans of the guys’ shoe choice:

Welcome Between The Buried and Me!

Vans music is expanding by the day! We’re stoked to welcome Between The Buried and Me to our roster of bands- and just in time, too. The band is soon hitting the road for a headline tour and releasing The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues on April 12th. The conceptual effort is a 3-song, 30 minute story connected by 2 humans living millions of light years apart. If that doesn’t make you want to check it out, I don’t know what else will! You can hear a sample of from one of the songs below:

Mastodon limited Re-Release

Mastodon have a special re-release just in time for Christmas!

Due to the success and quick sell-out of the “Wormhole Tunnel Edition” of Mastodon’s Crack The Skye, the band is issuing only 600 additional copies on Black Friday (that’s November 26th this year for all you boys who haven’t planned ahead).

The hard-case features a 3D wormhole design (I think it’s worth buying to figure that part out) featuring artwork from Mastodon artist Paul Romano. Inside you get a copy of Crack The Skye along with a DVD featuring the making of, photo gallery, track-by-track commentary and more.

The re-release is available exclusively through Metal Club. Mark your calendars if you want your metal paws on this one.

The Death Set’s “Far Weathered Friends” Video

We are excited to have the official music video for The Death Set’s “Far Weathered Friends,” a reworking of Daedelus’ “Fair Weathered Friends.” The video is directed by LAZLO, illustrated by J. Penry and animated by Wealthy Pictures.

On top of the video, we can (luckily) be expecting more stuff from The Death Set this year- including a documentary, a mix tape of the band’s favorite tracks and unreleased material….and all before a new fall album. Score.

After the unexpected death of founding member Beau Velasco in late ‘09, I applaud the band for their choice to continue their writing, touring and general badassery. No doubt that 2010 will wrap up to be a solid year, so here’s to many more awesome musical endeavors by TDS!

As details unfold about the year’s planned releases, you know where to look.

New Rise Against video

Rise Against have made a slideshow of photos from their world-wide adventures last year to their track “From Heads Unworthy.” It features photos from their crew, other photographers and even fans. Check it out and see if they grabbed any of your images!

New Killswitch Engage Video

After posting a teaser last week, Killswitch Engage has premiered their brand new music video for “Save Me” today.

Before you check out the video, see what guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz had to say about it:

This was my favorite video shoot EVER! It took like 1/2 an hour, and we were turned into clay. And who doesn’t like claymation and space aliens? They didn’t like my suggestion of turning me into a blood-thirsty pterodactyl with laser eyes at the end of the vid, but it’s cool. Thanks to all who worked wicked hard on this video…it looks sweet.

Yes. It’s a video with Killswitch in space getting hijacked by aliens. In claymation. What!? It even features a claymation performance, too. Just….watch:

Social Distortion signs to Epitaph!

Big, massive news for the punk music industry: Social Distortion has been signed to Epitaph Records!

Mike Ness of Social D comments:

We feel that Epitaph has a natural understanding of Social Distortion; both the history of the band and the direction we want to go. Combine that with their successful track record and it felt like a good next step for us. We’ve always been open to new ideas and pushing the envelope, but we have also been very conscientious about the decisions we’ve made. We considered a lot of options, but in the end, Epitaph feels like the right home for us. We’re looking forward to taking this step forward, opening some new doors with this upcoming album and this next chapter of Social Distortion.

And if you didn’t know, Epitaph Records was founded and is still owned by Brett Gurewitz, an original member of Bad Religion. He seems very excited to be working with the band:

My relationship with Mike goes way back to the beginnings of our careers in the LA music scene. Through the years Social Distortion have been a matchless voice in American rock and roll and I couldn’t be more thrilled to play a part in the next chapter for this great band.
Personally, I can’t see Social D with a better label. Epitaph is a heavy player in the punk scene and now the band can be proud to say they’ll be labelmates with Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, Rancid, Every Time I Die and New Found Glory.

The band is planning their first release with Epitaph this fall and already have a summer tour dates:
